Bluette RV5 Installation into a 2023 R-Pod 192

We removed the camper battery and electrical panel and replaced it with a Bluette RV5 system.

CAMPER MODIFICATION

7/8/20261 min read

We love to camp but, do not always like the spots that have full hookups. Installing the RV5 allowed us to be able to camp anywhere without needing to bring a generator. We are able to use our AC and DC items.

Where we choose to locate the items

The system we purchased came with a RV5 inverter, two batteries, a electrical panel and a e-pad. It also came with some of the wires needed to hook the system. We located the batteries and RV5 under the couch. This space was not beeing used much and it fit perfectly. We did add some decrotive metal to the front of the area where the mesh was. This allows air to flow but, protects the system from getting kicked or items getting pushed against it.

We had to relocated the electrical panel. The existing panel was much smaller and the new panel would not fit in the same location. We found a spot under the kitchen sink. Both the Electrical panel and e-pad fit in this location.

Because of the location of the systems parts we had to not only run some wires from under the couch to the new panel but, we also needed to run all the wires that were hooked up to the previous panel to the new panel.

How it all works

Once we got it all hooked up we found almose everything worked we do have to tweek a few items. This application would work better in a camper that has the space to put all the items in the same location.

Solar

We added 2 solar glands to the side of our camper and wired them into the RV5. We then ran the existing solar down the awning track. We added 3 more panels and wired them down the same track. Having the gland on the side of the camper allows us to be able to disconnect the solar from top and plug in suitcase panels. This is helpful if the camper is parked in a shaded spot. To see how we put the solar on the roof see our blog post.
